It pivoted to server market and people who didn't think running linux was professional enough. Workstations were being held afloat by that pivot. Also they were general purpose instead if limiting their workstation market to just one niche.

I find that annoying as well. Luckily on Firefox Android at least that can be fixed with a browser setting (Settings > Accessibility > Always enable zoom).

I do the same on Safari on iPhone. Enable the accessibility setting and browsers can't lock your zoom anymore.
