Your comment illustrates that AI companies are playing a kind of shell game. On the one hand there is theft of IP and violations of copyright, in the middle there is the obscuring of where things come from, and on the other hand there is the selling of it via tokens.
More countries should debatably follow what Japan is doing[1], where they are creating new laws to force AI companies to show their training data and how they collected it.
Disagree with the first point. A lot of the so-called "bad press" came very directly from competitors. To the extent that it looked like they were trying to snuff out a rising new language or were arguably engaging in slander, because it seemingly was a threat to the popularity of their own creations.
Any just released language (talking about when it came out back in 2019), is not going to be polished. That should be common sense. I've never seen a first release alpha of any language be polished or not have have things in a state of partial implementation. 0.1 is not 1.0.

Agree. Ease of use is one of its attractive features. Very much geared towards getting people started, even newbies to programming, and doing useful things.
There are many different calculators to choose from, including being able to make your own or an example one from VUI or VUI2.
Any of these other calculators can be used instead, and would be using 10 or 15 times less RAM. Therefore, seems like trying to insinuate or make something out of nothing.
Massive lack of foresight and hubris leads to not realizing that other countries can play the game of nationalism, xenophobia, trade war, and technology sovereignty too. Thus we are seeing a kind of boomerang effect.
It's smarter not to poke or disrespect customers buying from "your store", because they don't necessarily have to. Make it a big enough issue and they can choose to go elsewhere, figure out how to make it themselves, or find some other way.
It's more than torture, it's a deceptive disregard for human rights and agency. "Deceptive" in the sense of offering plausible deniability for death tolls caused by indirect actions such as blockades (an act of war), food shortages, or power outages.

Don't make the mistake that a superb medical system exists here. It does not, with the bulk of diagnostic medical folks I have encountered could easily be described as daft or only there to punch in their time sheet, much of desperate folks troubles lands in the too hard / don't want to know basket from what I've seen if there is no easy diagnostic path.
I've heard over the years accounts of a good number of people in my locale (North of Mackay) which have had chronic fatigue like illnesses, few ever get a clear diagnosis and most get to a point of recovery where they are told it's just part of getting older. However there is a range of nasty known viruses which really haven't had the greatest research conducted on long term health outcomes. I myself was an avid bush walker have ended up seriously sick after a weekend exploring the not-oft travelled dark corner of various properties and into the far reaches of the national parks about. There's only been one which I can definitely say was the case, due to the time lag and the fact the other person also got sick with the same hellish symptoms, the mountain transit was the only common factor. Thankfully there was no easy transmission, I've always been one who isolates but the other bloke was around his family but he also fared much better and not as sick.
Hendra's interest and quicker than usual discovery IMHO, was motivated by the fact it touched on something the big end of town was invested in, pony clubs and horse racing.
But it's mind-boggling that any subordinate couldn't understand that such levels of depravity and insanity could land them in legal trouble, and that's besides the ethical issue.
Hopefully, this stays out of being weaponized, and stays focused on curing diseases.
