Honestly one of the most egregious things I've read about the NHS - actively promoting behavior that makes the lives of innocent children unnecessarily harder, and forcing everyone to contribute to supporting frankly disgusting behavior.
> if you step out of this forum and the culture you are in, you will be offended every day
You're not alone, there's just a weird culture in the West at the moment of signalling empathy without demonstrating it. Calling out the usage of a specific word is just an example of it that you've just experienced - don't put too much stock into these people's opinions, even if you get them to "approve" of you all it will take is a slight change in the direction of the wind and they'll burn you at the stake for something else.
Not to mention over time the meanings of these words shift and change because - and repeat after me - language is just an expression of internal thought processes. Eliminating and banning language does nothing to limit the thought processes: people will still want to express the feeling of something being "retarded" even if they cannot use the word "retarded" - eventually the new word being used will be considered "offensive" and the word will shift again but the meaning will stay the same.
Say what you want and stand behind it. Don't let these cry-bullies police your language.
Very much similar experience to yourself, when I was learning from YouTube tutorials I refused to copy/paste from their repos and instead typed everything out. Maybe changing variable names or structure.
I can definitely say it helped me learn a lot more than just blindly copy/pasting everything over.
Not GP but honestly I don't even spend 10% of my time writing code - even if these tools were perfect code generators that could read my mind (instead of having to prompt) it wouldn't significantly impact my work.
> See what players think about the latest World of Warcraft patch. It's absolutely shit and broken
Crazy to me that the loot tables are still broken for some players/characters, they've tried to fix it several times now, and it's still not working - Since (some) endgame gear can only be obtained this way they've effectively soft locked those players/character out of the endgame.
Context: Some players are always receiving the same drops i.e. a belt. Rather than a varied loot table that gives them a chance to get items they need.
