Looking for a full-time software engineering role with real ownership, particularly around backend systems, infrastructure, and AI-native development. I currently lead end-to-end development of a Japanese learning platform using TypeScript and AWS. Previously, I built Java/Spring Boot services and Kubernetes infrastructure, and led the team’s adoption of ai native development workflows. I’ve built with LLMs since 2022;

"Someone broke into our house and we have no clue if they're still hiding under the bed or in the drawer. TV is gone."

i dont care if a wallpaper is ai made or not - as long as it looks good.

i get why they're doing it, but i just don't think it will scale. new image gen models are just getting better and better. if they simply choose to categorically ban them, they're missing out.

i planned it in sketch and implemented it with claude - i guess it is because of the font and the orange-ish background color?

that alternative is?

$20 Codex subscription works as well (if not better) and a seems like if allows more usage.

Well you do get promoted for simplicity if you outperform others, who do things too complicated.

For example, person A implements the simple solution, gets the project done faster while person B over engineers, has seemingly impressive stuff to talk about but at the end of the day doesn't ship.

256gb on a macbook should be illegal in 2026

Why?

If it's aimed for education, where does the need come from?

I use ~500 Gb on my laptop, but that is only because I have all my music on that thing. Doubt most students today have that need.

Absolutely ridiculous that they still offer this while macOS + Apple Intelligence already take ~30 GB

So only 226GB left??!

if you want to look up historic delay data (to make better guesses) you can use zugspaet: https://zugspaet.de/

I was considering trains for a Berlin-Frankfurt trip, and after looking at the performance of the preferred train, I'm not sure I want to still go that way: 25% cancellations :/

If your train is cancelled, you can take the next train or a different train, without buying a new ticket. The app will tell you this.

So 3h of sitting on the floor because there's no seat after a canceled one?

I mean yes, better than no transport, but it's ridiculous. And if you have an appointment in the morning, 2h of delay are a deal breaker.
