Bad parts of history repeating means that people are not paying attention to what happened before. The whole situation could have been avoided if people had taken the time to look back.

I hope the people will look back to the way the tobacco industry has killed thousands by ruthlessly effective marketing, intentionally making their product more addictive, spreading misinformation and lobbying against laws that were in the interest of public health.
